Amazon – The Little Website That Could

January 10th, 2018 Posted by Business Development, Tools and Technology No Comment yet

Amazon initially launched by Jeff Bezos in 1995 as an online bookstore with the name “Cadabra”. Bezos also toyed around with the name “Relentless” and to this day Relentless.com will redirect you to Amazon.com. Bezos always saw Amazon as a technology company, and he had an untraditional business approach for Amazon which he referred to as “Get Big Fast”. “Get Big Fast” was Bezo’s plan to quickly expand Amazon to be larger than any other Internet retailer through low profit margins. This strategy caused the company to survive the Dot-com bubble of the late 1900’s and early 2000’s, and motivated Amazon to expand beyond a simple online bookstore.

How to Humanize Your Brand

Picture Your Brand as a Person

If you want to humanize your brand then you need to start by picturing your brand with a human personality. This may seem odd, but it is much easier to assign a personality and specific traits to a person than it is to a logo or company name. By thinking about your brand as a person you can think about the traits that define that person and decide upon the actions that such person would take. Once you imagine a personality for your brand you can easily begin using this mentality to humanize your brand and define it in the way you desire. Picturing your brand as a person may seem strange, but once you sit down and decide upon the person you want your brand to be, then you can easily begin manipulating your company’s actions and logos to fit that personality and truly humanize your brand.

Snapchat for Business – A Guide for Marketers

January 13th, 2016 Posted by Business Development, Experts No Comment yet

Snapchat: a relatively new social media app that began as a way to send pictures to friends and has diversified and grown in popularity over the past few years. Snapchat is different from other social media apps as your content is only viewable for a short portion of time; thus, allowing you to more frequently post content. Snapchat’s users typically fall in the 13 – 37 year old age group and the app receives over a 100 million daily users. If this sounds like a similar age group to the one you’re targeting then marketing via Snapchat is a must!

Snapchat’s newest addition allows you to post pictures and videos to your “story” which all your friends can view for 24 hours. This story feature can serve a number of uses – for example:

1) Give a Behind the Scenes Look to Your Business

As social media becomes more and more mainstream there continues to be a growth in businesses that gain popularity via content. The Dollar Shave Club is an example of a business that found stardom due to its funny content and likeable staff. This is just one example but numerous businesses have found success because they were comical and likeable – maybe Snapchat can do the same for you.

2) Offer Contests, Deals, or Promotions

Contests and deals can be a great way to simultaneously promote your business and Snapchat. You could have a contest in which you have your followers on Snapchat send you pictures and then randomly choose a winner. You could also have a contest in which followers screenshot your story and post it on another social media site to promote your Snapchat Profile. The possibilities are endless.

3) Provide Access to Live Events

Snapchat’s story feature is extremely useful for broadcasting live events. You could take pictures and videos of an event and then post on your story for your friends and customers to see. This being said you would not live broadcast the entire event but rather short, entertaining segments.

4) Much More…

These are some of the limitless possibilities Snapchat offers. Even if you decide to just occasionally post a picture or video Snapchat can still help you to diversify and expand your influence and audience.

If you’re interested in adding Snapchat to your social media presence then download the app either in the App Store or Android Market. Elon Musk & Team are Brilliant!

August 11th, 2015 Posted by Business Development, Tools and Technology No Comment yet

models

I’m not much of a car guy.

I’m not much of a technology guy either.

Elon Musk and Tesla Motors first caught my eye when I put solar panels on my roof and dropped my electricity bill from $400 to $75 a month. It only seemed fitting that I use these savings to buy something electric. Three years ago the electric car market was not very stylish and not much has changed since. That is except for the Tesla Motors Model S. This car was a first of its kind and immediately drew my attention, but I was hesitant to purchase it and questions began to cloud my conscience. Was I insane to put a deposit down on a car that was only in prototype? Would it be a disaster like the soon to find out Fisker Karma? Would I have range anxiety if I ventured out of So Cal? Will my wife divorce me when she finds out I made a large financial decision without her okay? So many questions at the time, but three years later that same car has exceeded all previous expectations. My wife even likes the car.

What I do know is marketing!

Since I was born, I have been figuring out ways to profitably market my ideas. Elon Musk hit the nail on the head when he said that marketing is all about relationships. Word of mouth goes back to the beginning of time as the key way people are motivated to buy. Through Tesla’s next-level technology and superior experience, Musk created a very powerful network of affluent mouths and soon Tesla cars were spreading across the nation like wildfire. Other automobile manufacturers start at the affordable level and spend lots of money to promote but end up with mixed results. Tesla, on the other hand, built the high end vehicles first and let the outstanding experience do the talking. Now Elon is taking it a step further to reward the Model S owners through an opportunity to promote that experience to their family, friends, and colleagues with $1,000 going to the buyer and $1,000 going to the Tesla bird dog.How cool is this? Click http://ts.la/john1020 to start the process of buying your Tesla online with $1,000 in savings going to the new buyer. No aggressive auto salespeople! No more stinky gasoline stations! Go into the diamond lane by yourself! Design it exactly the way you want it! Not to mention you will love every minute behind the wheel! At Omnibeat we love marketing and technology to help our clients promote their products and services. I can’t help but applaud what Elon and the Tesla Motors team have done to break the mold in the car market while simultaneously promoting green technology. If you are thinking about getting a Telsa, give me a call at (562) 881-6000 to take mine for a spin.

Facebook Success – Rubber Hitting the Road

March 31st, 2015 Posted by Business Development, How To, Tools and Technology No Comment yet

As Digital Marketing specialists, we are often asked how can advertising in places like Facebook really make a difference and bring a solid return on investment. In this case with Parkers Lighthouse & Queensview Steakhouse, it was a rather simple campaign to create awareness. We asked a simple question to fans and friends which gave them an opportunity to win a $50 gift card. The concept was to post the promotion of a $50 gift card and ask them to “like” Parkers Lighthouse & Queensview Steakhouse if they hadn’t already, to “like” and “share” the post, and to comment if they preferred surf or turf. A winner was randomly selected and given a $50 gift card. This was relatively simple and tremendously effective.

The results came in and over 10,000 people were reached by the post. The post received more than 300 likes, 137 shares and 105 comments. It turned out to be pretty much 50/50 on surf or turf with many comments suggesting it is best to enjoy both at the same time!

Facebook Success 1

The result and follow-up: The winner from the Long Beach area took a photograph of her food she was enjoying while using her $50 gift card from Parkers Lighthouse and posted it on Facebook. It really did turn out to be a great win-win situation. It depends upon the industry and the goals of the company; but, Facebook can be a valuable tool to harness the followers of a company and to promote something in a way that with small outlay can have a much bigger return and reward in the long run. We’re excited to share this example with you and would be glad to assist in any way to help you have a similar success in your business.

Cheers,

JZ
