OmniTalk – New Year’s Resolutions

February 1st, 2018 Posted by OmniTalk No Comment yet

As quickly as they are broken every single year, people still make New Year’s Resolutions. Why? It seems like it is just an exercise in defeatism. Why do people set themselves up for failure EVERY SINGLE YEAR? We have now been writing OmniTalk for a full year! Yay OmniTalk! Last November was our very first entry and we talked Turkey—Thanksgiving disasters to be more exact.

We don’t plan on revisiting all the same topics this year as we did last year, but because this is our first of the second annual entries, it seems that revisiting the kitchen disasters and seeing if our culinary safety has improved is a good idea.

It’s Fall!

I know that it’s Fall. I know because the Pumpkin Spice signs are all illuminated. Those brilliant fall colors of amber and gold are inviting me to sample yet more unlikely food items with the meat of an orange gourd, and a sprinkling of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Pyrotechnics

The art of creating a firework display can have dramatic and beautiful results for celebrating Independence Day in the United States and various other things around the world. Dear Old Mom

Everybody has a mother and might have been searching to find out the date of that special Sunday this year known as Mother’s Day, or looking for brunch spots, or even a great gift idea. It turns out, some people even know how to punctuate Mother’s Day correctly. You see the term “Mother Day” earned 41.2 million search results, while “Mother’s Day” (with an apostrophe ‘s’) received just 5.4 million results. April 30th, 2017 Posted by OmniTalk No Comment yet

Who Knew that Easter is the leading candy holiday?

A recent article on the website Refinery29.com quoted an estimate of 90 million chocolate bunnies would be purchased for Easter 2017. Ninety Million! The population of the United States is 321.4 million as of 2015. That means 28% of the entire population wakes up on Easter to a chocolate treat in a basket of plastic grass. That equals more than the population of California, Texas, and New York combined! Good thing that rabbits multiply quickly. They also referred the National Retail Federation’s prediction that $2.6 billion would be spent just on Easter candy in 2017. Here is the complete article.
