In this blog, we look at some of the benefits of using the cloud for accounting and what businesses offer the best accounting cloud software.
A few years back, Jeff Bezos promised that Amazon would begin delivering packages by drone, and, at the time, everyone thought he was crazy. However, Bezos’ dream is becoming a reality with trials underway around the world. Drone delivery is not yet legal in the US and still has a way to go until it becomes entirely feasible, but there is a good chance drones will be delivering our packages in the near future. In this blog, we will discuss the history of drone delivery as well as the feasibility and future of this service for all companies – not just Amazon.
Gambling has been around almost as long time, which is no surprise given that it’s human nature to feel excited and take risks! The first evidence of gambling came from 2300 BC where tiles have been found that appear to have been used for a simple game of chance. Gambling was then mentioned in 500 BC by Sophocles showing that the Greeks and Romans gambled frequently.
We have talked in the past about having a content calendar to keep your content organized; however, you should also have a content strategy for specific platforms. Facebook has become the largest social media service, by a wide range, and as a result it is one of the strongest and most important marketing tools for companies. If your company is using Facebook on a daily or weekly basis then you should have a content strategy outlined to keep your content and goals in order. We will look at developing a content strategy specifically for Facebook and how it can help your business.
Facebook posts can be one of the most effective marketing strategies if used correctly; however, a lot of people do not know how to begin marketing their Facebook posts effectively. We wrote this blog for that company that is looking to begin marketing on Facebook through strong posts that effectively target their audience. This blog will outline a few easy steps a company needs to follow when establishing their Facebook presence – if followed properly then your company will have a basic Facebook content strategy and will be on your way to marketing customers through Facebook.
Social media has become one of the most powerful tools in this modern age. Everyone from celebrities to businesses to politicians use forms of social media like Twitter and Facebook; however, social media has recently come under scrutiny due to Donald Trump’s overwhelming presence on Twitter. Regardless of your stance on Trump, it is clear that his social media presence is untraditional. Previous presidents and politicians used social media, but their comments were always professional and clearly drafted with the assistance of publicists. President Trump’s Twitter, on the other hand, can and has been polarizing. In this blog, we will examine both sides of this argument regarding Trump’s Twitter and look at what the future may hold for Presidents using social media.
We don’t know about you but before we buy a product or service we first check the reviews. Whether it be buying a product on Amazon, having dinner at a new restaurant, or contracting someone to work on your house, reviews are always important and can be a reliable source of information. In this blog, we will talk about the benefit of reviews, why your business should utilize reviews, and how to incentivize customers to review your business.
As quickly as they are broken every single year, people still make New Year’s Resolutions. Why? It seems like it is just an exercise in defeatism. Why do people set themselves up for failure EVERY SINGLE YEAR? You’d think by now there’d be an app to help, or an anonymous support group (maybe there is and they are really good at keeping it anonymous—who knows?).
If you have not heard about Bitcoin by now, then you must be living under a rock. Bitcoin is a new “cryptocurrency” that is looking to replace our current use of fiat currencies and completely alter the way we do business. In this blog, we are going to look deeper into Bitcoin – looking at the technology behind it and the recent price surge you have surely heard about.
Amazon initially launched by Jeff Bezos in 1995 as an online bookstore with the name “Cadabra”. Bezos also toyed around with the name “Relentless” and to this day Relentless.com will redirect you to Amazon.com. Bezos always saw Amazon as a technology company, and he had an untraditional business approach for Amazon which he referred to as “Get Big Fast”. “Get Big Fast” was Bezo’s plan to quickly expand Amazon to be larger than any other Internet retailer through low profit margins. This strategy caused the company to survive the Dot-com bubble of the late 1900’s and early 2000’s, and motivated Amazon to expand beyond a simple online bookstore.
We have now been writing OmniTalk for a full year! Yay OmniTalk! Last November was our very first entry and we talked Turkey—Thanksgiving disasters to be more exact.
We don’t plan on revisiting all the same topics this year as we did last year, but because this is our first of the second annual entries, it seems that revisiting the kitchen disasters and seeing if our culinary safety has improved is a good idea.
A lot of times I find myself trying to balance working IN my business versus working ON my business. In this blog, we’ll talk about some of the difficulties that come when balancing working ON your business versus working IN your business and offer a few tips for how to manage this struggle.

In this blog, we’ll explore the benefits of LinkedIn Premium and discuss whether the investment is worth it for your business.
I know that it’s Fall. I know because the Pumpkin Spice signs are all illuminated. Those brilliant fall colors of amber and gold are inviting me to sample yet more unlikely food items with the meat of an orange gourd, and a sprinkling of cinnamon and nutmeg.
One of the classic ways to judge your job is by asking yourself, “When I wake up in the morning, am I excited to go to work?” If you answer yes to this question then it means you either love what you do or you love who you work with. A harmonious workplace not only makes work more enjoyable, but makes all workers more productive. You get more done with people you can easily work with, and this is why we devoted this blog to writing about how to improve harmony within the office.
Email marketing has become one of the most useful forms of digital marketing with an average 3,800% return on investment – that equals $3,900 for every $100 invested! Email marketing helps draw in new prospects to your business and keeps you connected to existing customers, encouraging them to continue purchasing your company’s product. Social media is another powerful form of digital marketing allowing your brand to be constantly interacting with your customers in a communal sense. Thus, what better way to optimize your digital marketing than to combine the two together? In this blog, we will talk about ways you can integrate email with social media to ensure that you get the most out of digital marketing and see a higher return on your investment.
If you want to humanize your brand then you need to start by picturing your brand with a human personality. This may seem odd, but it is much easier to assign a personality and specific traits to a person than it is to a logo or company name. By thinking about your brand as a person you can think about the traits that define that person and decide upon the actions that such person would take. Once you imagine a personality for your brand you can easily begin using this mentality to humanize your brand and define it in the way you desire. Picturing your brand as a person may seem strange, but once you sit down and decide upon the person you want your brand to be, then you can easily begin manipulating your company’s actions and logos to fit that personality and truly humanize your brand.
Between your child’s first day of school and Christmas morning, have you ever stopped to think about the number of photos that you have personally loaded on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook? Multiply that by the millions of users that engage on these platforms and you have quite an unruly photo album.

Content is the most important thing on your website – it’s that simple. Your website can be the most visually appealing or the most technologically advanced, but none of it will matter if you have poor content. There is a reason why the New York Times and Wall Street Journal remain popular despite the emergence of new news sites: it is because they place a high value on keeping quality content and customers recognize this. The same idea applies for businesses and websites and that is why we are devoting this blog to talking about how to create and maintain quality content.
Back in November of 2016 mobile web browsing finally overtook desktop web browsing with mobile and tablets accounting for 51.3% versus 48.7% from desktops. This switch clearly illustrates the growth in mobile browsing, but also conveys another key idea: the need for a mobile website. A mobile website has become necessary if your business wants to capture customers and expand your business. This blog will expand on this idea of a mobile friendly site and highlight the specific reasons for why a mobile site is so important.
Return on investment (ROI) is easy to calculate as it equals return minus investment divided by investment; however, finding the values of each of these numbers is much more difficult. In truth, there is almost no way to determine your exact return on investment, but in this blog we will be discussing ways in which you can roughly determine how effective your investments are. These estimations will allow you to determine what marketing strategies work best for your business, and you can then tailor your marketing plan to match these results and optimize efficiency.

Do you remember Pokémon Go? The game came out exactly a year ago today, and it took the world by storm. Everywhere you went there were kids consumed by their phones trying to catch these Pokémon hidden throughout the real world. At one point the game had almost 30 million daily users with new headlines coming out about the game daily. However, now there are not even 5 million daily users and the app rarely gets a mainstream headline. So it begs the question: what happened? Well in this blog we’ll update you on what’s happening with Pokémon Go these days, and reveal some key takeaways we can all learn from the meteoric rise and fall of this app.
Everybody has a mother and might have been searching to find out the date of that special Sunday this year known as Mother’s Day, or looking for brunch spots, or even a great gift idea. It turns out, some people even know how to punctuate Mother’s Day correctly. You see the term “Mother Day” earned 41.2 million search results, while “Mother’s Day” (with an apostrophe ‘s’) received just 5.4 million results. Though mothers are honored around the world in different ways, there are a few American traditions that I searched for the purpose of this blogpost.
A YouTube channel can be a great way to develop and publish visual content for your business. We have spoken in the past about the rise in video over reading and the importance of visual content, and we believe YouTube is the perfect way to do this. YouTube videos can be aimed at promoting your business or can rather just be informational and be posted to assist your customers; regardless of their purpose, it is important that you brand your YouTube videos and channel. In this blog, we will discuss why every business should brand their YouTube channel and the benefits branding can bring to both your videos and your business.
How well do you know your customers – it’s a question every company should ask itself from time to time. Customers determine your company’s success and a business needs to know what their customers desire if it is to succeed. In the past, we have talked about the ideal client, which was the idea of determining your company’s ideal client with certain characteristics that fit your business style, and this idea is somewhat similar. However, a company’s client base is not entirely composed of ideal clients and thus a company must know its clients in general if the business is to succeed.
Social media can be an easy yet useful tool for marketing your business. Upon reading this blog, you will see that a social media campaign can be easily accomplished by planning ahead and following your results.
Who Knew that Easter is the leading candy holiday?
A recent article on the website Refinery29.com quoted an estimate of 90 million chocolate bunnies would be purchased for Easter 2017. Ninety Million! The population of the United States is 321.4 million as of 2015. That means 28% of the entire population wakes up on Easter to a chocolate treat in a basket of plastic grass. That equals more than the population of California, Texas, and New York combined! Good thing that rabbits multiply quickly. They also referred the National Retail Federation’s prediction that $2.6 billion would be spent just on Easter candy in 2017. Here is the complete article.
A CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management which is a term that refers to practices, strategies, and technologies that companies us to manage and analyze customer interactions and data – basically, it is a company’s way of managing current and future customers. Many CRM’s, like Salesforce, are far too robust and the user is often overwhelmed causing them not to embrace the program and lose clients. I was looking for a simple and effective CRM when I found and fell in love with OnePageCRM. OnePageCRM is a company offering a new, innovative way to simplify CRM and optimize efficiency. In this blog, we will discuss the benefits of OnePageCRM’s technology and discuss why OnePageCRM may be a good fit for you and your business.
Events can be a great way to learn new ideas to help grow your business, as well as a great opportunity to meet other like-minded individuals. However, the problem often is that it is nearly impossible to talk to everyone at a single event and you may often miss out on meeting people that could help you and your business. This is where Twitter is helpful. Twitter can help you interact with a larger range of people and can help draw other users to your Twitter profile and business. In this blog, we will be talking about how to effectively use Twitter at events to optimize success and interaction. (more…)

Creating your website requires a great deal of information whether it be personal or company-based; thus, oftentimes when you finish a website you feel a great burden has been lifted off your shoulders. However, for a website to be effective you must invest time after the initial creation and ensure that you are updating the information and maintaining the content. In this blog we will discuss some of the items that are most commonly forgotten about on websites and encourage you to sift through your website and ensure that all these fields are up-to-date and well-maintained.
Virtual reality used to be a far-out idea, like time travel, but now virtual reality is very much real and is impacting the way we do business. There will always be disrupters in every industry, and we believe that virtual reality is becoming one of these disrupters. In this blog we will look at how far virtual reality has come and where it is heading, and how this will impact today’s businesses.
Do you remember the days of pre-internet? The days when you had to look something up in an encyclopedia rather than simply typing it into Google. We can all agree the Internet has changed our lives for the better; however, there are a few things we miss about the times before the Internet and we will talk about our favorites in this blog.
Email campaigns can be an easy and effective marketing tool. Finally, email campaigns are easy ways to increase brand awareness as email campaigns help build business value and keep customers tied to your business. Email campaigns are a great marketing tool – there is no denying it – however, email campaigns are useless if they are not implemented effectively. This blog will be going over the key components that go into making email campaigns that work, and hopefully you learn a few things that your business can implement in your next email campaign.
It’s been an exciting 2017 so far! But we are going to steer clear of Executive Orders and Walls and instead focus on one of the most popular New Year’s Resolutions—LOSING WEIGHT!
Gratitude is an important trait for everyone to have. When someone opens a door for us we say, “Thank You” and the same should be done with online marketing. Oftentimes, we are all grateful for our customers and followers but we often forget to thank them and show how much they mean to us. This blog is meant to encourage everyone to show gratitude through online marketing. In showing gratitude, you can easily make your customers or clients happier, and this should be every company’s ultimate goal: to satisfy customers.

Creating content is a choice, but, as we previously discussed, creating content and blogging boosts SEO and drives additional traffic to your site. So in the end there really is no reason not to create content, but, let’s face it, developing content is no easy task. Producing weekly blogs can become strenuous at times when we hit writer’s blocks, but over the years we’ve learned a few tips that help us develop our content.
Over the course of American history, we have seen how advancements in technology have affected presidential elections. One historic instance of technology influencing politics came through Richard Nixon’s Checkers Speech of the SO’s – Nixon used primetime television to appeal to the American people and gain their support. Technology now dominates every aspect of our lives and we are seeing technology’s presence in this presidential election more than ever. In this post, we will discuss the various ways technology is impacting this election and how the candidates are using different technologies to promote their campaigns.
“Cyberbullying” is when a child is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones. Examples of cyberbullying include mean text messages or emails, rumors sent by email or posted on social networking sites, and embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or fake profiles.
Back in the day, you used to get your daily share of news via this thing called the newspaper. Whereas, kids being born these days will probably never hear of this mythical “newspaper.” The invention of the internet has nearly killed off the newspaper as the newspaper workforce has shrunken 39% in 20 years and ad revenue has been reduced by more than half. However, newspapers aren’t the only thing disappearing from news – rather, the entire word is. As people grow more consumed, they want to spend less time reading and want to get a short, concise summary instead. This is where video comes in. Whether it be on the TV or via Youtube, video is the perfect way to instantly get a story across without losing an audience’s attention.
What’s the point of having a website if nobody is landing on it? Let’s face it: almost nobody makes a website just for personal gain – people make websites for others to use. If you’re a company you build a website to make money, and there’s only one way to do that: through others visiting your site. Thus, if you want to be successful and make the most of your website then you should read the tips below on how to increase traffic to your website.

Now, keep reading and we’ll share some tips we’ve learned on how to make your blog enjoyable and successful.
A lawyer is one of the 50 most popular jobs in America with around half a million people estimated to be a working law professional. A lawyer will always be in demand by a client and a lawyer will always be available – the only problem is linking the two. Social media is a great place for lawyers to advertise as many people will stumble across a lawyer’s ad and simultaneously have a need for assistance. We believe that Instagram is an ideal location for lawyers to market their service and, if used correctly, can greatly benefit a lawyer and his or her business.
A lawyer is one of the more popular and demanded professions in the world. Marketing as a lawyer is no easy task as you have no specific product you are pushing, but rather a service. This is why we welcome any possible marketing tactics for lawyers and we think we discovered a new one: Pinterest. Pinterest is a massively popular social media site home to 100 million active users. Pinterest is a web and mobile application that allows users to upload, share, and save images known as pins. Pinterest is unique from other social media sites as it promotes online shopping and business like no other with 93% of Pinners having shopped online in the past 6 months. However, it should be said that 85% of Pinterest users are female so the site should probably only be used if you are targeting a female audience.
A homepage is the most important element of any website. Your homepage will either make or break the deal as viewers will decide within seconds if they want to continue exploring or leave your website. Good content on your homepage is crucial because that is the initial place search engine algorithms look for keywords to help your site be searched properly. Developing the perfect homepage seems like a scary thought, but it can actually be a very easy process if you follow a few simple steps and include these 7 crucial elements.

Michael Phelps is an amazing athlete and clearly has a physical advantage with his height, wingspan, and double jointedness, but he would not be where he is today without the advancements in technology. Technology has allowed not only swimmers, but all Olympic athletes to get a slight advantage in comparison to the past. Before the use of technology, money had little to no impact on the Olympics, but now you must be able to pay to train and get technological advantages if you want to have a fair chance at winning. In this article we will focus on how technology has impacted debatably the biggest summer Olympic event – swimming.
Some customers are better than others – it’s as simple as that. In business, you find that dealing with certain demographics and types of people can be much more beneficial than dealing with certain other groups. An ideal client is a client that has various aspects causing them to be the perfect fit for the service your business is providing. If you haven’t heard about Pokémon Go by now, then you must be living under a rock. The app became the largest mobile game in US history with 21 million daily users in the first week and caused Nintendo’s share prices to jump 70 percent. Everywhere you go you can see people, young and not so young, walking around like lifeless, cell-phone-equipped zombies.
To most people, texting is more convenient than emailing, but we email anyways because it’s more professional, easier to attach files, and you’re able to find messages easily. Business messaging combines the key features of these two providing quick, simple communication like texts and the file sharing of emails, while preventing you from having to follow long email chains and deal with junk mail. It is because of this effectiveness and accessibility that so many businesses are turning towards team messaging platforms. We’ve provided a few popular team messaging platforms which you can check out if you find your business having trouble or wasting time communicating.
When you think of social media you think of your personal life, your life away from business. Rarely do younger people ever correlate business with their personal social media, and that’s a problem. A business’ social media presence goes beyond simply their website or Facebook account – it extends to the Facebook and LinkedIn accounts of their employees. (more…)

It’s the 21st century, technology dominates all aspects of business and everyone has a smartphone, so why meet up when you can just have a meeting from your office? Many organizations do the “Ready, Fire, Aim” approach to Hiring and don’t take the time to clearly define the “target” of what they need. As a result, you miss the mark and get a poor hire. In this article, Tom Willingham talks about the steps of creating the Benchmark through defining the filters and clarifying the target employee.

Snapchat is one of the fastest growing social media apps as it has 100 million daily users despite only launching in 2011. Snapchat is exclusive to the mobile and tablet app available through the app store and android store, and there is an average of 400 million snaps sent on the app daily. With that being said, Snapchat – similar to Instagram – is a social media site mostly used by millennials and younger groups. Thus, Snapchat is ideal for companies targeting a younger audience, but can be beneficial to any business looking to get ahead and gain an edge via social media.
Instagram is one of the largest social media sites with approximately 300 million active monthly users. Facebook purchased Instagram in 2012, but Instagram continues to grow under the social media giant as average engagement on Instagram has grown by 416 percent over two years. It has also gained 100 million new users over that same time period – a large number of those coming from an older audience. With that being said, Instagram continues to be dominated by the younger generation as 41% of users are between the ages 16 and 24. Thus, if you are mainly targeting an older generation than your time may be better spent on Facebook and SEO tactics, but if you are targeting a younger audience than Instagram is the perfect social media site for you.
Thus, you should carefully word your content so as to indirectly target this audience. You should not place labels that limit customers to a certain age group and terms such as “old,” “elderly,” and “senior” should be avoided at all costs. A good example of indirect targeting comes through Depends, an adult diaper company. Depends markets their product as underwear and uses middle age models in order to target an audience of 60s and older.

Lawyers can be very crafty! Crafty in the sense that they know their particular craft but may be short on other areas like social media and blogging. I recently read a blog by Kevin O’Keefe which clearly states that law schools are teaching the craft of law but not teaching other areas of being successful like social media. (more…)

How much can your company benefit from a timely rebranding and revitalization? When considering this question, one must keep in mind that rebranding does not necessarily address the wants and needs of the company directly, but rather speaks to the wants and needs of that company’s current and prospective customers. Therefore, the important factors to consider when assessing the value of a rebrand include equity measurement, market, brand awareness, relevance and vitality, consumer personality. (more…)
From the humble beginnings of Mark Zuckerberg with a simple idea to connect college students to then the entire world, things have been changing rapidly. I got started relatively early as a way to keep an eye on our kids who really weren’t savvy for Myspace. I didn’t have much interest at first but quickly realized it was an amazing way to stay connected. (more…)

A negative review on Yelp may be harmful to your business if you deal with it the wrong way. In the past, we have talked about how to use Social Media for customer service, but we have yet to address the problem of dealing with problems as they arise. Here are 4 tips that will help you learn how to handle negative reviews before they ever happen:
No matter how much you try to water a patch of dead grass, it will still be a patch of dead grass. However, focused energy on the green grass eventually spreads out and bring life to the brown areas.
Customers can use Facebook’s Professional Services portal to find businesses in the their area based on keywords specific to the products or services they need. Or they can browse browse the top local business categories.
The velvet rope and thought of being excluded from this other realm causes what Social Media Consultant, Frank J. Kenny, calls an “insatiable want.” It causes an unrivaled demand for your service or product. There are countless examples of businesses that utilize this velvet rope to entice people.
Marketing is an exercise you must participate in and the effort pays dividends. In this blog I provide my top three marketing new year’s resolutions for 2016.
Snapchat: a relatively new social media app that began as a way to send pictures to friends and has diversified and grown in popularity over the past few years. Snapchat is different from other social media apps as your content is only viewable for a short portion of time; thus, allowing you to more frequently post content. Snapchat’s users typically fall in the 13 – 37 year old age group and the app receives over a 100 million daily users. If this sounds like a similar age group to the one you’re targeting then marketing via Snapchat is a must!
Snapchat’s newest addition allows you to post pictures and videos to your “story” which all your friends can view for 24 hours. This story feature can serve a number of uses – for example:
1) Give a Behind the Scenes Look to Your Business
As social media becomes more and more mainstream there continues to be a growth in businesses that gain popularity via content. The Dollar Shave Club is an example of a business that found stardom due to its funny content and likeable staff. This is just one example but numerous businesses have found success because they were comical and likeable – maybe Snapchat can do the same for you.
2) Offer Contests, Deals, or Promotions
Contests and deals can be a great way to simultaneously promote your business and Snapchat. You could have a contest in which you have your followers on Snapchat send you pictures and then randomly choose a winner. You could also have a contest in which followers screenshot your story and post it on another social media site to promote your Snapchat Profile. The possibilities are endless.
3) Provide Access to Live Events
Snapchat’s story feature is extremely useful for broadcasting live events. You could take pictures and videos of an event and then post on your story for your friends and customers to see. This being said you would not live broadcast the entire event but rather short, entertaining segments.
4) Much More…
These are some of the limitless possibilities Snapchat offers. Even if you decide to just occasionally post a picture or video Snapchat can still help you to diversify and expand your influence and audience.
If you’re interested in adding Snapchat to your social media presence then download the app either in the App Store or Android Market. Your resume used to be your ticket to a job – nowadays things have changed. Online applications are becoming more and more popular as applicants are asked to answer a multitude of questions.
Elon Musk and Tesla Motors first caught my eye when I put solar panels on my roof and dropped my electricity bill from $400 to $75 a month. It only seemed fitting that I use these savings to buy something electric. Three years ago the electric car market was not very stylish and not much has changed since. That is except for the Tesla Motors Model S. This car was a first of its kind and immediately drew my attention, but I was hesitant to purchase it and questions began to cloud my conscience. Was I insane to put a deposit down on a car that was only in prototype? Would it be a disaster like the soon to find out Fisker Karma? Would I have range anxiety if I ventured out of So Cal? Will my wife divorce me when she finds out I made a large financial decision without her okay? So many questions at the time, but three years later that same car has exceeded all previous expectations. My wife even likes the car.
What I do know is marketing!
Since I was born, I have been figuring out ways to profitably market my ideas. Elon Musk hit the nail on the head when he said that marketing is all about relationships. Word of mouth goes back to the beginning of time as the key way people are motivated to buy. Through Tesla’s next-level technology and superior experience, Musk created a very powerful network of affluent mouths and soon Tesla cars were spreading across the nation like wildfire. Other automobile manufacturers start at the affordable level and spend lots of money to promote but end up with mixed results. Tesla, on the other hand, built the high end vehicles first and let the outstanding experience do the talking. Now Elon is taking it a step further to reward the Model S owners through an opportunity to promote that experience to their family, friends, and colleagues with $1,000 going to the buyer and $1,000 going to the Tesla bird dog.How cool is this? Click http://ts.la/john1020 to start the process of buying your Tesla online with $1,000 in savings going to the new buyer. No aggressive auto salespeople! No more stinky gasoline stations! Go into the diamond lane by yourself! Design it exactly the way you want it! Not to mention you will love every minute behind the wheel! At Omnibeat we love marketing and technology to help our clients promote their products and services. I can’t help but applaud what Elon and the Tesla Motors team have done to break the mold in the car market while simultaneously promoting green technology. If you are thinking about getting a Telsa, give me a call at (562) 881-6000 to take mine for a spin.
I’ve been using Uber for the last several years on and off. Uber has some obvious pluses over a taxi or other service that I have experienced first hand.
I’m very excited to have had the opportunity recently to be interviewed on the Lawpreneur Radio Show. The Lawpreneur Radio Show is hosted by Miranda McCroskey, a criminal defense attorney who is helping fellow law professionals to become more successful. She does this by bringing together experts and providers to the law field, helping attorneys gather needed information and resources that will take their practice to the next level. They show you how to “Hang Out Your Shingle!” In the interview, I discuss the opportunities for lawyers to take advantage of digital marketing. They are often overlooked, especially in this day and age as it is changing so rapidly; we are all looking for better ways to highlight our brand and services online. Please listen to the podcast to hear the full interview. The podcast interview is also on iTunes. We welcome any questions or inquiries as to how we can further help in detail.

As Digital Marketing specialists, we are often asked how can advertising in places like Facebook really make a difference and bring a solid return on investment. In this case with Parkers Lighthouse & Queensview Steakhouse, it was a rather simple campaign to create awareness. We asked a simple question to fans and friends which gave them an opportunity to win a $50 gift card. The concept was to post the promotion of a $50 gift card and ask them to “like” Parkers Lighthouse & Queensview Steakhouse if they hadn’t already, to “like” and “share” the post, and to comment if they preferred surf or turf. A winner was randomly selected and given a $50 gift card. This was relatively simple and tremendously effective.
The results came in and over 10,000 people were reached by the post. The post received more than 300 likes, 137 shares and 105 comments. It turned out to be pretty much 50/50 on surf or turf with many comments suggesting it is best to enjoy both at the same time!
The result and follow-up: The winner from the Long Beach area took a photograph of her food she was enjoying while using her $50 gift card from Parkers Lighthouse and posted it on Facebook. It really did turn out to be a great win-win situation. It depends upon the industry and the goals of the company; but, Facebook can be a valuable tool to harness the followers of a company and to promote something in a way that with small outlay can have a much bigger return and reward in the long run. We’re excited to share this example with you and would be glad to assist in any way to help you have a similar success in your business.
Cheers,
JZ

Email campaigns are a great way to reach out to your prospects/clients and a draw them back to your website to take an action. You reap what you so, email campaigns generate business in the long run.
It seems like the mention of a blog puts business owners in a very awkward position. Blog writing is a task they don’t really want to tackle and they aren’t sure where to start. They are often unsure if their ideas are good enough; therefore, they end up completely paralyzed. As members of the Digital Marketing industry, we believe that content is king. The best leaders in a field/industry put together content that is then published to showcase their expertise while providing helpful information to clients and prospects. The paralyzation occurs when the leader’s ideas are whizzing around in their head but never end up formulated into a published blog article. We even experience this here at Omnibeat. You would think the cobbler’s kids should have shoes but sometimes we are also paralyzed when it comes to content development. I am now exercising new techniques that I am also passing on to our clients. These techniques provide solutions by allowing them to be creative, to have fun, and to publish good content that people will truly appreciate. Hopefully it will drive readers, and prospects, to feel more confident working with an expert in the industry.
My tips for releasing your blog paralyzation:
Keep it simple. Put together the general ideas floating around in your head and categorize them by topic category. This could be industry/business related, techniques you utilize, community relations, human interest stories and the fun that your team has while serving your customers. The variety of content is paramount in making your blog interesting. In this day and age, less is often more. Blogs do not need to be 1,000 or even 500 words. These articles need to get the point across as concisely as possible so they are not boring or distracting to the busy reader.
Do not make the development of the blog too difficult for yourself. At the moment, I am speaking this blog into my phones voice recorder so that it can be transcribed and edited by my good buddy and partner, Nate. His fingers work at 10x the speed of mine on the keyboard so it not only is mocked up more quickly, it allows his ideas to be infused into the article before I formulate supporting pictures, video, links or other components for publication. The blog ideas are ping-ponged back and forth until ready to publish.
Lastly, utilize a service, like Omnibeat, to help you with your blog. Once you have developed an idea and the written text with photographic or video components, hand this over to a professional to manage the layout of the blog as well as posting and linking other places such as an email blast or on LinkedIn page/groups you are engaged within or other social media platforms. This ensures the background aspects of the blog posting process are optimized.
With these three tips, I hope you will find the blog writing and publishing process much less paralyzing.
Cheers,
JZ
